This is a story about how I went on a round-the-world trip without leaving my home — and a guide on how you can do the same.
We are currently living in a global pandemic and travel is limited or not possible at all. In March we have entered a 3 month long lockdown, where restaurants, bars, clubs, cinemas and other businesses were closed. People were encouraged to stay home and avoid all unnecessary travel.
I love traveling and exploring new places, so of course I was sad that all my travel plans for the year had been canceled. So I decided to travel while still staying home. This sort of travel is what I call “culinary travel”.
I saw a post on reddit a few months back, where a couple decided to cook food from different countries of the world. As a passionate chef I was intrigued by that idea and wanted to do the same. I decided to take things a step further and not only cook but also educate myself about the country by watching documentaries or reading travel guides online.
The first thing I did was go to a website called Random Country — that does exactly that — it generates a random country. The first country I got was Paraguay.
